Hello everyone! As a final post of 2022, I wanted to do a quick roundup of my favorite books from this year (and least favorites eek) and some of my yearly Goodreads stats too. I hope everyone read something great!
My goal this year was 121 books, which I completed today by finishing Fahrenheit 451.
Goodreads Stats:
Books read- 121
Pages read- 46,568
Average book rating- 3.5
Average book length- 384 pages
My Top 10: (in no particular order)
1. Kingdom of Ash - Sarah J. Maas
What an incredible end to an incredible series.
2. I'm Glad My Mom Died - Jennette McCurdy
Wasn't excepting to love this as much as I did. A super powerful read.
3. Heartstopper Series - Alice Oseman
Kicking my feet and giggling the entire time. So super cute and worth all the hype.
4. Pack Up The Moon - Kristan Higgins
The most I've ever cried from a book...absolutely broke me.
5. After I Do - Taylor Jenkins Reid
I'll read anything this woman writes and this year I went through her entire backlist...this was my favorite.
6. Finlay Donovan is Killing it - Elle Cosimano
Read this at the beginning of the year and I still talk about it constantly. I recommend this to everyone I can. Hilarious.
7. Rule of Wolves - Leigh Bardugo
Another author I will read anything by. The cameos? Screamed.
8. It Ends With Us - Colleen Hoover
Read a decent amount of her books this year and wasn't too impressed with all of them. This one however is worth all the hype and is well done and so powerful.
9. Mistborn - Brandon Sanderson
Took me WAY too long to read this and I'm fully obsessed. Will be continuing. He is as great as everyone says.
10. The Maid - Nita Prose
What a debut!! This was fantastic and super fun. Looking forward to what she puts out next.
Honorable Mentions: Couldn't just leave these out...
Carrie Soto is Back - Taylor Jenkins Reid
Anxious People - Fredrik Backman
The Switch - Beth O'Leary
School for Good and Evil - Soman Chainani
Lightlark - Alex Aster
My Top 10 Most Disappointing: No shade to authors and fans but not my favs here
1. The No-Show - Beth O'Leary
One of her books on my favorites, one of her books on my least favorites. Range.
2. Husband Material - Alexis Hall
I'm so sorry but this sequel didn't need to be written. Point A, 500 pages, right back to point A.
3. Summer I Turned Pretty - Jenny Han
I probably would have loved this when I was 13...however at 23 maybe not.
4. November 9 - Colleen Hoover
Colleen is a huge hit or miss for me and this twist I just wasn't personally okay with.
5. Below Zero - Ali Hazelwood
The Love Hypothesis was one of my favorite books last year but I hate to say it, if you've read one Hazelwood book you've read them all. She definitely has a set rubric. Her novellas were not that amazing and this was my least fav of the 3.
6. Without Merit - Colleen Hoover
Sorry to do this to you again Colleen.
7. The Betrothed - Kiera Cass
This hurt to do because The Selection series is one of my all-time favorites. Again I'm probably not the audience. Going to read her newest book next year though with my fingers crossed!
9. Love Her or Lose Her - Tessa Bailey
Bailey does some FANTASTIC romance, this however was not one of her best. No romance to be found.
10. Conversations With Friends - Sally Rooney
I will die on this hill. But I just can't read another of her books. I'm so sorry Rooney stans but I've given up hope.
With the good and the bad, here to many more books in 2023 and a new goal of 122 books.
First book of 2023 you ask? Stolen Heir by Holly Black.
See y'all next year.
