Finlay Donovan is Killing it

THIS WAS SO FUN! 100% my favorite read of the year so far.

Synopsis: Sitting at a Panera Bread discussing her upcoming murder mystery novel with her angry agent, Finlay Donovan gets into trouble. An eavesdropper overhears the plot of her book and thinks Finlay isn't a writer, but a hitwoman. With a massive sum, this stranger recruits the struggling single mother of two to dispose of a problem-husband leading Finlay to get wrapped up in a world she wasn't expecting to experience beyond the page.

Plot: From page one I knew this would be a 5-star read. Incredibly tight and fast-paced plot, witty from the jump and completely messy in the best way possible. I didn't know what I was getting myself into but I sped through this, finishing in a day and loving every second. You've got an all-in-one book of mystery, romance, action and comedy. I don't want to spoil all the fun twists and turns this has (and there is a LOT)...so just read it. Incredibly fun and unique.

Characters: Finlay is absolutely hilarious and a wonderful main character. But beyond the fun storyline, she experiences some tough situations and Cosimano does a fantastic job writing about them while keeping the light-hearted vibe, giving dimension to Finlay but in a comedic way. Secondary characters Vero, Julian and her kids were well-developed and only added to my love for this. They thankfully weren't only added as a plot device but instead really filled out the narrative.

I absolutely recommend to everyone.

5/5 stars.
